If I'm happy with my coverage, do I need to do anything?

No, if you’re satisfied with your coverage and haven’t received a notice that your plan is ending, you don’t need to take any action. Your plan will automatically renew for next year, and everything will continue according to the upcoming year’s summary of benefits. You will receive an annual notice of change outlining any plan changes.

You can switch Medicare Advantage plans during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), which runs from October 15 to December 7 each year. You can also make a change during the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (OEP) from January 1 to March 31, if you are already enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan.

Consider the following when comparing plans:

  • Premiums: How much are the monthly premiums?
  • Network: Are your preferred doctors, hospitals, and specialists in-network?
  • Coverage: What additional benefits does the plan offer (dental, vision, hearing, fitness)?
  • Drug coverage: Are your medications covered under the plan’s formulary?

No, you do not need to notify your current plan. When you enroll in a new Medicare Advantage plan, you will be automatically disenrolled from your old plan once the new coverage starts.

Yes. During an enrollment period, you can switch to a Medicare Advantage plan that includes prescription drug coverage (MAPD) if your current plan does not offer it. We will help you make sure to check that the new plan covers your medications.

When you switch plans, your out-of-pocket spending resets. The out-of-pocket maximum for your current plan will not carry over to the new plan, and you’ll start fresh with the new plan’s out-of-pocket limit. If you make this switch during the annual enrollment period (most likely), it will reset on January 1, when your new plan starts.

If you are switching from one Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plan to another, your prescription drug coverage will be included with the new plan, and you do not need to enroll in a separate Part D plan. However, make sure your new plan’s formulary covers your medications.

Yes, we do offer plans that may include additional benefits such as flex cards, Part B premium reductions, or similar perks. However, it’s important to understand that these plans, while heavily advertised, are not always widely available. In many cases, you may not qualify for the benefits based on your specific circumstances, such as income or health status. Additionally, these plans may not be offered in your geographic area. It’s essential to carefully review the details and availability of these benefits in your location before making any decisions. Our team can help you explore the options and verify eligibility.
